2016 Winter Solstice
December 21st, 2016 – 6-9PM
It is that time of year again… where we come together and celebrate the shortest number of daylight hours… or the longest number of darkness hours – totally your preference. The event starts at 6PM and will end by 9PM. All ages and stages are invited to come and join us for a meal together, some activities for children, or simply decorating a skylantern that we will release at 8:30pm (weather permitting) as a way of honouring what we are grateful for in 2016 and also what we want to release from 2016.
An RSVP is required to reserve your meal and lantern and feel free to spread the word as all are welcome. We do ask for a donation of new socks and underwear that will be provided to individuals experiencing homelessness at shelters in our communities. P
When purchasing the socks/underwear please consider the strength of the wool/material and the sizes required. These items are vital to people living on the streets and the link below is the CBC story sharing the importance of these gifts.
Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday December 21
